Bray Air Show Empty
PostSubject: Bray Air Show   Bray Air Show Icon_minipostedWed Aug 04, 2010 12:40 am

Sorry this is late but I have just finished a 10 day Student Progression Parachute Boogie in Clonbullogue.

At this year's Air Show we had, without doubt, the best Static Display ever on the Prom with 2 three axis and 2 flexwing aircraft fully rigged. This would not have been possible without the voluntary help of the membership.

I have, on a number of occasions, thanked Gerry Deegan of Limetree Airfield, for his support of microlight aviation and in particular, his support of the NMAI. On Sunday the 25th of July he derigged his Escapade, trailered it to Bray and rigged it for the display. He then, along with his wife Geraldine and son John, manned the stand for the whole day.

Damien Minnock and Noel Fitzmaurice did the same with their flexwings. One of the members also brought a Thruster and fitted the wings on site. Also on the stand all day were Con Brogan, Dave Bulger, Noel Maher, Mark Owens, Liam from Kernan Aviation and Brian Dillon representing Ultraflight. Michael Carter even rigged his Quantum in the TV3 car park at 5.30 on the Friday morning to promote the event on Ireland AM. If I have forgotten anyone I apologise but it was an extremely busy day. We even had another airline pilot join the Association.

There were about 80,000 people there and a huge interest in the aircraft so the same questions were answered over and over with the same level of enthusiasm at the end of the day as at the start.

There can be no question of the support for the NMAI from Portarlington with Gerry, Geraldine, John, Noel and Dave all attending from Limetree with Dave supplying vehicles to tow the aircraft.

Our thanks go to everyone who made the effort on the day. It certainly would not have been possible without your help. Your support is now paying dividends as we sre growing more and more in stature every day.

It is YOUR sport and your support is much appreciated.

Thanks a million from everyone on the committee.

All the best
Paul
