A great days flying.... Damien landed in Letterkenny around mid-day and soon afterwards we set sail south down over Barnsmore gap and transited through the Sligo zone on a day that had stunning visibility and scenery. South of Sligo we mad our way to Michael Tolan's airfield in Co.Mayo and landed in a stiff x-wind. Our thanks goes to Michael and his family for their hospitality as they made us most welcome and had food there for us. It is a beautiful little airstrip with a lovely clubhouse an well worth a visit. After taking a few lads for a couple of circuits we again took off along side Michael and flew up along the coast where we met up with James Morrisroe in his savannah and together we flew the coastline of North Mayo. The scenery in the north Mayo coast is staggeringly beautiful and is one of the nicest places I have ever flown. After saying our good-bye's to the other lads we made our way north towards Donegal and Damien made his way towards the midlands to his home base in Granard.
The return flight home was excellent, still calm air but with quite a headwind, it just gave us more time to absorb the scenery.
After all the crappy recent weather, today more than gave us a feeling for what is so good and the reason we persue this passion we call flight..... here's looking forward to many more of them..

Johnny & Mac.
